“Government Cheese” is a surrealist family comedy set in 1969 San Fernando Valley, following the eccentric Chambers family as they chase wild dreams, blissfully ignoring reality. When patriarch Hampton Chambers is released from prison, his return disrupts the unconventional rhythm his wife Astoria and sons Einstein and Harrison have built in his absence.
