David Oyelowo

Co-Founder

David Oyelowo is a Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Emmy-nominated actor, producer, and director known for standout roles in Selma, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and Silo. He also co-founded MANSA, a streaming platform highlighting global Black culture, and launched a scholarship with GEANCO supporting Nigerian girls affected by terrorism. Through storytelling, advocacy, and mentorship, David is committed to creating work that entertains, uplifts, and inspires.

Jessica Oyelowo

Co-Founder

Jessica Oyelowo started her career as an actress in London’s West End. Her work now spans stage, screen, and music, in front of and behind the camera. She recently directed the documentary Becoming King, executive produced Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and released her debut album (M)OTHER, a personal exploration of motherhood. A devoted mother of four, Jessica is passionate about creating meaningful stories across creative platforms.

Lisa Bruce

Producing Partner

Lisa Bruce is a two-time Oscar-nominated, BAFTA-winning producer with 15 feature and television films to her credit, including the critically acclaimed Darkest Hour and The Theory of Everything. Those films have earned over 200 international nominations and won more than 70 awards, including Oscars, Golden Globes, and BAFTAs. From 2019 to 2020, prior to joining Yoruba Saxon, Lisa served as the creative Executive Producer for Amazon Prime’s Welcome to the Blumhouse, an 8-part anthology series spotlighting original feature-length films by diverse directors.

Amanda N'Duka

Creative Executive

Amanda N'Duka is a creative executive at Yoruba Saxon, where she works closely with writers, directors, and producers to develop compelling film and television projects. She currently oversees a diverse slate of titles in active development. With a keen eye for fresh storytelling and a passion for amplifying underrepresented voices, Amanda is dedicated to discovering unique narratives, nurturing emerging talent, and ensuring each project aligns with the company’s creative vision.

Emilio Mazariegos

Creative Executive

Emilio Mazariegos is a Guatemalan producer based in Los Angeles, working across both independent and studio projects with a focus on expanding authentic representation on a larger scale. With a strong foundation in development, Emilio’s most notable work includes producing a feature-length film for Wayfarer Studios as part of the Six Feet Apart competition. His projects have screened at prestigious festivals such as HollyShorts, Fantastic Fest, Fantasia, SXSW, the Cleveland International Film Festival, and LSFF.

Darnell Rhea

Executive Assistant

Darnell Rhea has dedicated her career to the film and television industry, working passionately across a range of professional roles. Most notably, she built a career as a SAG/AFTRA actress, performing in both comedic and dramatic roles on stage, in film, and on television. Now at Yoruba Saxon, she continues to expand her knowledge of the industry as she transitions into a producing career, bringing her creative insight and performance experience into her evolving work behind the camera.

Kelcey Henderson

Executive Assistant

Kelcey Henderson is a media and production professional with a background in journalism, filmmaking, and creative development. At Yoruba Saxon, she works closely with executive leadership on everything from brand-building and script coverage to project research. With a storyteller’s instinct and an eye for detail, Kelcey helps bring thoughtful, mission-driven projects to life—always bringing curiosity, care, and creativity to the table.
